By accessing and using Sukoon Healing of the Minds’ services ("Sukoon"), including the Sukoon Helpline services (the "Helpline"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. Any participation in this service will constitute acceptance of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
Notification of Changes:
Sukoon reserves the right to change these conditions from time to time without notice as it sees fit and your continued use of the Helpline will signify your acceptance of any adjustment to these terms. If there are any changes to our privacy policy, it will be updated on our home page and on other key pages on our site. You are therefore advised to re-read this statement on a regular basis.
Nature of Services/Medical Disclaimer:
The Sukoon Helpline provides emotional support, resource connection, and general informational guidance. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, psychological, or therapeutic care.
Helpline respondents:
Are not licensed clinicians acting in a clinical capacity
Do not diagnose conditions
Do not provide therapy or medical treatment
Do not prescribe medication
If you are experiencing a medical emergency or are in immediate danger, call 911.
If you are in crisis, you may also contact 988 for immediate support.
Use of the Helpline does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, or other professional healthcare relationship.
Limitation of Liability:
All information, referrals, and resources are provided in good faith for your benefit. However:
Sukoon does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of information shared.
Sukoon does not guarantee outcomes from referrals or resources.
Services are provided on an “as available” basis.
You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your decisions and actions. By using the Helpline, you agree that Sukoon, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Availability of Services:
The Helpline operates during posted hours and is subject to volunteer availability.
We do not guarantee:
Immediate response times
Continuous availability
Uninterrupted or error-free service
That conversations will meet all expectations
That conversations will last a specific duration
Sukoon reserves the right to discontinue or refuse service in situations including, but not limited to:
Suspected misuse or abuse of services
Repeated disruption of services
Threats toward staff or volunteers
When support has been reasonably provided
When prioritization of other users is necessary
Any other situation at the discretion of management
Acceptable Use:
Using the Helpline in any of the following ways is strictly prohibited and will result in termination of services and potential action taken against the user:
To threaten, harass or abuse the Helpline, its staff, respondents, users, etc.
To impersonate someone or attempt to impersonate another person or entity.
To seek to draw out confidential information from Helpline respondents.
To deliberately hold up Helpline services preventing respondents from assisting other users.
To prevent others from using and benefitting from Helpline services.
To communicate with or attempt to reach out to or connect with Helpline respondents in any way, shape or form outside of Helpline services.
Use and Collection of Information:
During your interaction with the Helpline, certain information may be collected, including:
Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Examples: name, phone number, contact details (if voluntarily provided)
This information:
Is collected only when voluntarily shared
May be used for follow-up (with consent)
May be shared with third parties only with your explicit consent, except where required by law
Is stored securely using reasonable safeguards
Non-Identifiable Information
Examples: demographics, usage trends, general concerns discussed
This data:
Is anonymized and de-identified
Cannot be traced back to individual users
May be used for reporting, quality improvement, grant applications, and organizational development
May be shared in aggregate form
Digital Communication Disclaimer:
Helpline services may operate through phone, text messaging, and online messaging platforms.
While Sukoon takes reasonable steps to protect your privacy, electronic communication carries inherent risks. By using digital platforms, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
Privacy & Confidentiality:
Helpline services are confidential and may be accessed anonymously.
Sukoon follows confidentiality best practices and safeguards user information in accordance with applicable laws and ethical standards. While Sukoon strives to uphold HIPAA-aligned practices, the Helpline is not a healthcare provider delivering clinical treatment and may not be subject to HIPAA in all contexts.
Users and respondents agree not to initiate contact with one another outside of official Helpline services.
Confidentiality Policy:
We aim to create a safe, trusting environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing openly.
Our Commitments:
Users may remain anonymous
Information is stored securely
Personal details are not shared without explicit consent
Anonymized data may be used for reporting and improvement
Exceptions to Confidentiality:
Confidentiality may be limited if:
There is a serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself
There is a serious and imminent risk of harm to others
There is suspected abuse or neglect requiring mandated reporting
A court order or legal obligation requires disclosure
There are credible threats toward Helpline staff or volunteers
There is concern for the safety of the Helpline team
When possible, decisions regarding breaches of confidentiality are made by management in accordance with organizational policy and legal requirements.

Sukoon is committed to providing non-discriminatory services. We take all complaints seriously and ensure that they are promptly investigated at an appropriate level. We’re committed to take action, whenever possible, to reduce the likelihood of similar problems reoccurring.
